To extend the use of this thread I'm encouraging discussion about ordering the content of the wiki better. People adding contributions here and there is good, but it helps to have some sort of common approach.

David:
We've decided to forgo the standard "Make a website" routine with T3ed and instead have chosen to try out a Wiki approach.
For those of you that don't know what a wiki is, it is basically a collection of articles that any registered user can create and edit. The biggest example of a wiki is the encyclopedia (
http://wikipedia.org) Wikipedia.
When it works properly it is like a great on-topic library of information.
Now before everyone goes running in there to edit and add everything under the sun please take a look at what is already there and try to keep things in a similar style (ie forum links to tutorials, size three titles etc).
Please try to keep things clear and simple.
Before adding a page, make sure one doesn't already exist on the subject.
Please do not spam the wiki.
No Edit Wars.
We have no trouble with disabling registrations and restricting creation/editing to those who we feel we can trust.
Please do not restrict editing of your article. If you feel you need to restrict editing on your article please contact one of the (
http://www.ttlg.com/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=WikiAdmins) WikiAdmins. Currently this is GBM and myself.
So, without any further ado: (

An excellent idea. I use the same Wiki software myself (clean and simple).
The Unreal editing wiki has always done well, and so should this one.
Also Dave, I suggest you put in more categories as soon as possible. Oh yes, and backlinks are also helpful...
Perhaps CategoryTutorial, say, to group all of those together.

I prefer the Mediawiki software myself (a la Wikipedia). I just find all the FunnyCapitalisedLinks really hard to read.

I started with MediaWiki but it refused to work properly, both the 1.3 and 1.4 versions had an awful amount of errors. I put it do to it being a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) project and we run a WIMP (lolz) server (Windows, IIS, MySQL, PHP)
Yeah scumble, I've just been reading up on categories.

If you had tried to register on the Wiki and got an error about your username not being a WikiName then you should try again as I've removed that...er..."feature". :)

I notice that some entire tutorial pages are just links to UDN or other sites. Is that ok?
I suppose if someone comes up with their own tutorial, they could add it above the link... so I'm not sure why I just posted this

scumble has just agreed to help with the running of the wiki, and as such has been made a WikiAdmin.

I have just implemented a new layout - it's not perfect, but considerably less ugly than Wikka's default. It was largely based on the colours of GBM's logo, now to be seen at the top left.
