Have you noticed the E3 Garrett psa files with the cape animations in the editor? Have you noticed that the previous two games have Garrett with a cloak? It's understandable if Garrett needs to change clothes but I have no idea why the devs scrapped the caped Garrett.
Also the cape would break up his silhouette.

Ah, ok. But I'll disagree for the cloak in T1&2 nonetheless. :p He is seen wearing it only when traveling through the City. In Constantines house he wears none and in this little glimpse of him in Viktoria's liar and Soulforge he comes indeed from far away. Plus (although not such a big proof), his old model has no cape either.
Now you have to do a lot of climbing and crouching in TDS like in all games, do you really want to risk that not only he has this train dragged after him all the time but also probably clipping issues with the ground and all that (even though you could change its animation in a way that the cape lies flat on the ground, in which case on the other hand it would look extremely odd when Garrett crouched on a railing for instance)? I really don't want to get on your wicks but I think there's few use in making something that's merely different and not completely better. I'm all game for providing a better and less straps-and-vambracy Garrett model, but I worry about the cloak. :erg:

I guess I'll start two new threads myself, the one about the actual status of modified missions along with annotations etc., and one for the status of the TDS realistic textures side-project.
Speaking of it, I guess we'll have at least one texture photo trip to Leipzig because you can use a lot of house decoration elements for
goodness textures. Plus, even though there are rather few books and parchment images in TDS:

I'm a very little bit involved in these two projects of providing scanned manuscript pages on the internet - for free. We don't need Arabic handwriting for TDS but there are a couple of high-res shots of blank pages where you can actually see the structure and everything of the old paper. Might be worth one or two looks, maybe I can scout for some examples.

If you could get a cloak working that would be cool, but it will be really hard to get it looking good - which is presumably why the devs cut it.
