First of all, I'm okay with NewDark, loved it, etc.
But! I'm also a fan of portable gaming and retro stuff. So I have Dell Latitude D800 (Pentium M + GeForce 4200Go), fine machine, I call it my ultimate retro gaming machine but it has some cons:
I've got Creative Audigy PCMCIA card with hardware EAX support but 4200Go can't handle Thief III and Doom 3 with good FPS. And the second issue is widescreen which is bad for pure DOS games, they are stretched. But still, Dell runs Thief II almost perfectly. I'm missing the stars, but fog and dithering on 16bit work okay.
For some reason, I thought that pure Thief II died with the introduction of DX10 video cards so I decided to buy a new old laptop. Here it is Toshiba Tecra S3 with newer Pentium M CPU and GeForce 6600Go. Thief III and Doom 3 are okay now but Thief II is not with crippled colors in skys :(
Any explanation and fix for it?

Googled for this issue and it looks like this thing is broken on GeForce 6: 8-bit textures with an indexed color palette. Know nothing about it :)

basically, features required for proper OldDark operation were dropped with GF6+ cards. DDfix is your only option of you don't want ND.
