Thief II freezing (XP on mac)

Hi,

I have recently installed Windows XP (using bootcamp so seperate installation from OSX) purely to play thief 2. I install the game ok and it runs but at any point the game freezes, usually within the first 5 minutes. It often happens after attacking someone. I also had the same problem with thief I.

I have installed the latest patch (1.18) and have directx. I tried using the ddfix but it made things worse - the colours were bizzare and the game would freeze instantly. Am I right in thinking that the problem is due to the mac system?

Any help would be much appreciated.

As long as you're running Windows directly I doubt it's the Mac, that's pretty standard PC hardware under the hood.

I wonder if this behaviour could be due to the lack of the dual-core fix. I'd suggest you uninstall the game, then use DJ Riff's (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=131106) Tafferpatcher to install fresh and give it a go. That utility will install the game and automatically apply a bunch of common updates and fixes.
