Hi,
I just bought thief II for my winXP sp3, dual core PC.
I have nvidia geoforce 8500GT.
THief I installs fine but thief II doesnt.
As soon I hit a key during movie scenes on load it hangs or MS error popup comes up.
IF I just load the game and then let ot run then I get an MS error anyway.

1. Download and install the indeo 5 codec - Found here
2. Click start, then run and type the following " regsvr32 ir50_32.dll "
Still same problem.
TRied
regsvr32 "d:\program files\thief2\lgvid.ax" and
Choose 'set afinity'
Choose to use only one core instead of two (clear the checkbox for CPU 1).
STill same problem.
I might have to take this back as I am stuck on what to do.

I am having the same type of problem with the "hanging" or no response on both thief gold and thief metal age. I cant get :30secs into the first scenes on both games and they will freeze with no response. I have to do a hard shutdown on my computer. This has to be a glitch that can be overcome somehow. Can anyone help please? Thank you.

Jagguy, I just tried this FlipTIB and it worked on my system. Both Thief Gold and Metal age are running fine now. I dont know how to copy a link but you should be able to find this in search. If anyone can tell me how to copy a link let me know and I'll do it for you.

It just seemed like we had similar issues so I thought he could give it a try. Hope I didn't overstep any boundries, didn't mean to if I did - I was just excited that it worked at the time. Many thanks once again.:cool:
