Some propositions:
Quote Scrolls - hidden in both games conversation of LGS staff.
KOMAG CDs - old way of distribution of FMs when there was no download websites.
Angelwatch Roof in Thief 2 Demo - using a crate it can be visited. Funny easter egg.
Improved Broadhead Arrow - found in Ambush, it bounce out of walls.
Dewdrop's Hidden Power - if it wasn't for wiki confirming it's existence, I would thought it's just downwinder's imagination.
Bafford's Manor secret conversation - I watched video about it long time ago. Basically if you put sound files from Thief 2 into Thief 1, then first conversation about Bear Pits change. New conversation has South Park reference. Searching for it right now I couldn't find any information nor video about in in the internet. And switching manually snd.crf files didn't work. So I don't know if it was just custom made conversation.

What about the digital comic series made to accompany Thief 4?

I don't really get that point. Thief 4 is original name of game. And I prefer this name over some stupid shenanigans with numbering of games. Plus calling it Thief Reboot can make assumption that it is connected to Thief 1, which may make bad impression of this old game. As for argument that it's not a sequel, but reboot, I find it stupid. Each of Final Fantasy games are reboot of each other, but still they got new numbers. Lufia 2 is actually prequel to Lufia 1. So sequel in games is whatever author of game wants it to be.

thief 2014 was the original name ,its a retelling of thief from the future, not connected to first game but a entire fresh start to series,is what it was suppose to be
the reason i even say anything i don't want a thief 1/g/2/3 fan to mix up the real cannon lore with a non cannon lore game, nothing from thief 2014 has to do with the lore from thief 1/g/2/3
that is why some people including me don't want people to mix up thief 2014 as part of the thief universe, system shock 1/2 have more to do with thief universe then thief 2014
i hope that is a bit more clear, and if some person went on wiki and claims other wise don't make it true
only thing connected to original thief games to new reboot is nods to names/etc
other wise the iceburg might tip over and sink

Wrong, this game was called originally (
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thief_(series)#Thief_(2014)) Thief 4. Thief 2014 or Thief Reboot can mean that game is connected to Thief 1, so if this game is bad, there there is high probability that Thief 1 was also a bad game. That's why I prefer calling it Thief 4 to avoid any confusion.

The in-game evidence of Thief 2014 suggests that it is set in the same universe as the original trilogy, but a long time afterwards. You can even visit some of the ruins of places from the previous games, and read notes about historical characters who bear suspiciously striking resemblances to people in the older games.
Whether people actually liked or disliked the 2014 reboot, from a pure lore perspective I do not see why people who are interested in Thief lore can not consider it as part of the set of canon Thief installments.
Cigam on 2/6/2022 at 09:26
On the other hand, if someone doesn't want to consider Thief 2014 to be canon, that is also probably legitimate.
But the themes of The City having cycles where the current City has been built upon the ruins of previous Citys were present in the original games. In TDS there is even a line that goes something like: "The City has been built over itself so many times, that not even the Hammers know how old it really is".
And in Thief 2014 there is the moment deep underground where Garrett sees the ruins of older buildings and comments something like: "Each City built upon the bones of the last".
Well I quite like the thought of the original trilogy's City being to Thief 2014's City, as the Lost City was to the original trilogy's City.
And on the subject of strange sequel numberings, what on earth did Far Cry 2 have to do with the original?

Since when is this a Thief 2014 thread? Maybe we can move the discussion about this elsewhere?
Some more ideas for the iceberg:
- Garrett and Viktoria are in a romantic relationship (theory)
- Garrett 2014 as a descendant or reincarnation of the original Garrett (implication/theory?)
- The Queen of Beggars is a Keeper (implication/theory?; prophetic powers, able to read glyphs [which were supposed to have all disappeared with the Final Glyph's activation?], can somehow commune with animals, power to suddenly disappear)
- Erin as the next Viktoria (theory?)
- Karras recording in T3's museum level
- Mechanist victrola continuity error in the T3 Cradle level
- Keepers existing in Precursor times (theory/possibly implied in the Lost City level? I may have been corrected on this in the past.)
- Nyarlahotep/Cthulhu/Lovecraftian references in the TG/TDP Lost City level
- The infamous guard argument in T2 over Lady Van Vernon's honour
- The torture dungeon and zombie hidden in Sherriff Truart's manor
- The "Tiltowait" Easter Egg (referencing Discworld) in Dromed
- Benny and his friend/Smart Guard and Dumb Guard conversation saga
- Extra lore for the Cradle residents (a dev once posted on here the backstory of the Cradle fire and how the residents started a riot, but I can't remember which thread it was in)
