My thinking is that Thief Gold is what gets sold now, so less people are aware initially about The Dark Project.

I don't think you quite understood what an Iceberg is supposed to be. It's usually for myths, game quirks and other such oddities in a game, like you can see here -> (
https://i.imgur.com/q8diFXc.png) . I do like the idea you were trying to go for here though with fan missions and the games/scrapped games.
I was actually debating on making one myself using my knowledge of the engine and quirks I've gained through the years, being a degenerate speedrunner and all, along with some of the cut content I've heard of from other sources in the community. Maybe even throw in a few known in-jokes like the bow upgrade or "cheat codes" just to satisfy the memes. Unfortunately I just got lazy and felt I'd just put in too many nuanced things in it that people on here probably wouldn't even know about and not get.
