Also what's this I hear about Basso having a bird called Genevieve? Posters on Eidos forums are talking about it, but I can't find it in any of the E3 vids.
Check out the concept art and screenshots page. I think I saw that there.

I hated the GameTrailers demo when I saw it, but what they showed to Gamespot looked WAY more like Thief. I was shocked that it didn't cut to third person for the rope climb, and it sounded like third person climbing is going to be sequence specific and not an 'every single time you climb' thing. Still not ideal, but better than I expected. Third person takedowns are still dumb, but it appears takedowns will be less of a gameplay necessity than they were in DX:HR.
I was not left without some reservations, however. It looked like the rope arrow could only be attached to that specific point, which is very disappointing if that's how it'll work. Also not a fan of the bow aiming with an on-screen reticle instead of a sight attached to the bow. XP being for leaderboards instead of player progression (which was what it sounded like he was saying) is... odd. Not tying skill unlocks to XP: Good. A metric for comparing performance with friends: Not awful. We've been doing much the same thing for years here with people comparing ghosting or Lytha-style playthrough times. But the rewards themselves seem kind of broken. 'Headshot. +40 XP' being the most egregious, but things like bonuses for pickpocketing while using Focus also seem wrong to me. They could balance it with overwhelmingly large XP bonuses for finishing a level without using focus, being non-lethal < being unseen < being unseen and never raising suspicion, but will they?

Maybe Jenivere died and he named his beloved bird after her as kind of an homage or something. Who knows what the reason is behind it.
My question is why do we have to assume EM is an absolute idiot over everything they do? THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND US AND HERE'S MORE PROOF WE MADE UP!

saw the 10 minute game play footage and immediately came here. I knew the community here would feel the same as I. I haven't checked the other threads yet, but a friend told me they made the engine open source. Is this true?
P.S. This thread is hilarious.
