Hi all, long time Thief fan here getting ready to play through the series again.
I was pretty excited to get Thief Gold working under 64 bit Windows 7 thanks to the thread on ddfix. Now I'm checking out the model and texture patches.
I installed the model patch (dtmp10_tga.zip) and followed the directions to turn on high quality models and hardware. I can see that the models are being used, but they're all "scrunched" together into a guy that's about 2 feet tall. Anything else I need to do to get those working?
I also installed the hardware textures patch (503_texturepatchhw) and installed all of the texture directories into the fam dir in the thief directory. Problem is, I don't know what else to do...the instructions say:
"I assume you've read the instructions on how to install this texture patch on Thief-TheCircle.com"
I haven't been able to find that thread. Any pointers?
Thanks!

hmm, that's strange. You put everything into the correct directory? If all your CRF files are in the thief directory it should work fine. However, if you moved all CRF files into a RES folder or something, then you should move the mesh, obj, fam, etc. folders into that directory.
Not really sure what the problem with the models are. As long as you put the models into the correct folder and make sure to do all the necessary stuff (turn hardware on, add ObjTextures16, etc.) it should work, so I dunno.:weird:
@voodoo47:
The Enhancement pack is for objects only. Not AI.

Ok, I figured it out.
The only step I hadn't done was using darkloader to optimize the game. I had run darkloader, but didn't see any way to optimize. Apparently you need to download and then try to run a mission, and it will then ask you if you want to optimize.
After that things look good. :thumb:
