Whats up taffers! Ive been playing TDM with a controller for a while now, I've played over 80 FMs, and I'm really comfortable with the controls now. That said, I want to play more Thief Gold FMs, and I'd love to get close to the same control scheme.
Here's where it gets annoyingly complicated; I play through Steam Big Picture Mode. This is a couch setup, so that works best for me, and generally speaking, I just use Steam controller configuration, which is thankfully quite sophisticated. Trouble is, while I can assign keys to my hearts content, I can't seem to get my left analog stick to control creep properly. I can only have forward (fixed speed) and stop. Coming from TDM this is so annoying, as in it you control your speed by how far you push on the directional controls, making for really subtle gameplay.
Has anyone been able to set this up properly? I'm so close to an ideal control setup, and just stuck on this last thing. Thanks!

Yes, I have. With TFix installed, you enable the joystick in the Thief controls menu, and then in Steam assign your left joystick to be a standard joystick. You may have to restart the game for it to work, but it does work. It was discussed in (

Finally got to try this. For me, the left analog just does nothing now. Any ideas?

The only thing I can think of is to try different joystick options in the Steam controller config. I'll double-check my settings when I get a chance, but I believe I have it set to just "Joystick," nothing special.
