I've read through numberous threads and cannot get TG installed. As soon as I click the setup.exe, it says "32-Bit Installer has stopped working."
I have tried the d:\setup.exe -lgntforce and running it in Compatability Mode. Neither worked:
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium
GeForce GTS 250
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz
Any suggestions? Thanks!

1. Copy all files from the THIEF folder of both CDs.
2. Create a folder named RES and move all files with *.CRF extension into it.
3. Create a text file named INSTALL.CFG (be sure it's not got named install.cfg.txt) with the following content:

install_path
language english
resname_base res
load_path
script_module_path
movie_path movies
(note the empty string at the end)
4. Run thief.exe, in the game menu click Quit.
5. Install DDfix and any other patches needed.
6. Enjoy the game.

Thank you for your help, it ended up being my DVD drive acting up. I reinstalled drivers and added the DDFix and other mods to it. Thief looks FANTASTIC! I love this game. :D
