Thief Gold: Widescreenproblem !!

hello

I trying to get Thief Gold into Widescreen. But i fail.

I downloaded DarkWidescreen-v6r3.zip, istalled it, and ran the game.
The first time i started the game with the new widescreen-patch, everything went well until i pressed the last button after the "buying-screen". Everything freezes and i hit ctrl alt delete to get out of the mess.
The second time i reinstalled thief gold and did the same thing a "Send Report error"appeard after i pressed THIEF.EXE.
I tried to uninstall the widescreenpatch, but nothing went good. "Send report error " again.

How to get widescreen-thing to work with thief gold?

EDIT: I tried to play with a fresh installation without any patch-things. And after a while the game freezes but the ambience sound continues. What is wrong and what should i do to stop it from freezing?

whats is your exact system spec? ifyour runnign a dualcore cpu you will need to install DDfix (do s search on foum for it.

XP | 5600+ X2 64-bit | 3x1GB 800MHz ((1xCL5 2xCL4))=CL5) | Sapphire X1950Pro | 36 GB 10K RPM | 320GB (299,9 GB) Seagate | ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE

I found something called DDfix here:

But it seems only for Thief 2
Where is the one for Thief Gold?

I tried this processor.bat.

But everything freezes and i press the reset button on the computer.

DDFix is for Thief 1, Thief 2, and System Shock 2.

I downloaded the DDfix from here:

Installed it and start thief.exe.
After pressed "Play mission", a black screen with the life under is there, but i can walk around and hear but i cant see something.
I restarted, and everything went well. But wen i have played for a while, a "Report error " occur and it crashes.
What is wrong?

And if i get it to work, how to combine the widescreenpatch without "hurting" the thief.exe so it don't craches again?

Hmm, tried again with only the DDfix. It works good i think, for the moment.

But now i have problem with the DarkWidescreen-patch.
When i start the game(clicking thief-exe) everything is just black. I hear the menu sound and can click on the menyalternatives. But i cant see something. I have selected 1680 x 1080 and tried both 100 and 90 for the FOV.

What is wrong?

An error message that pops up when starting a level in Thief and Thief 2. You may not get an error message, you may see only a black screen. It primarily occurs on Nvidia Graphics cards running driver versions 5x.xx and above although there are several reports of it occuring on ATI 9xxx cards using new drivers.
If you are running Thief 2 you should remove the semicolon (;) from the line ;safe_texture_manager in the file user.cfg which you should open with Notepad.
If you are running Thief 1 you should download one of the patches linked below that corresponds to your version and overwrite the installed Thief EXE with the one from the ZIP file.

* Thief: The Dark Project v1.14 Direct3D Texture Error Fix.
* Thief: The Dark Project v1.33 Direct3D Texture Error Fix.

Make sure both resolutions are the same in those files. Both can be opened in Notepad. Also, I think you are supposed to install the widescreen patch first, and then ddfix. Make sure you are using a resolution that is actually supported.

I have selected 1680 1080. In both cam.cfg and ddfix.ini it is this resolution.
I tried 1440 900, and that works perfectly, but is a bit blurry.

Someother who can try if 1680 1080 works in Thief gold/1 ?
In thief 2 it works for me.
