I've just recently been able to get a hold of Thief Gold and was pretty stoked to play it. By following the FAQ on this forum I managed to get it running with little difficulty. My computer runs on Vista so I set the compatibility mode to windows 98 and downloaded the texture patch to get it to run on graphics card.
At this point, I began playing it. It ran well so assumed everything was fine. Next I tried to download ORGY's improved textures and try to make thief work with it. I forgot to run Darkloader and as a result, all the npcs and doors disappeared. I deleted the fam folder and tried to run Thief again. However, the textures continued to fail.
I then reinstalled thief along with all the updates. Unfortunately, this time the game won't run at all. I just get a blank screen similar to the one described in the unpatched version. Is there a solution to this?
