I just started playing Thief Gold recently, and I notice that it seems to be unusually taxing on my system for such an old game. I've got a Geforce GTX 770, and Thief really gets the fan cranked up on my card. It's weird because that card usually doesn't break a sweat for much newer games. Any ideas as to why this might be happening?
*Edit* Upon further analysis, it's actually my CPU fan that's making most of the noise. According to Windows, Thief is using 25% of my CPU cycles. I've got a Phenom II 965 (3.4 GHZ Quad Core)

GOG version with the universal update 2.0.3.49 and current version of TFix. Nothing else.

well that system certainly shouldn't have any difficulties running the game in the mentioned configuration - as mentioned before, NewDark is actually faster than oldDark on most systems. maybe some overzealous antivirus messing things up?
