I have the Mastertronic version of Thief GOLD, which comes as THIEF The Complete collection, my question is:
Is there a way to keep the video resolution and character detail from resetting every time I exit and re-launch the game?
The default is:
RESOLUTION: 640X480X16
CHARACTER DETAIL: Low
I want to set it up permanently to:
RESOLUTION: 1024X768X16
CHARACTER DETAIL: High

First of all make sure you have full read/write access to the folder where Thief Gold is installed (installing it in Program Files is not a good idea for this reason) and the CAM.CFG file has no Read-Only attribute.
If you really sure that nothing prevents the game to write into its own folder and CAM.CFG file but it still doesn't save settings, then please do the following:
1. Open the CAM.CFG file with any text editor and post contents of it here.
2. Set the Read-Only attribute to the CAM.CFG file.
3. Start the game, make all changes you need, start any mission then quit the game.
4. Check Thief folder again. There the file _AM.CFG should appear. Post its contents here too.
5. Don't forget to uncheck the Read-Only attribute back. :sly:
