Okay, so I have been playing Thief 3 (on Xbox) for a long time, and I recently got System Shock 2 and I love that, so I wanted to find this game.

By the way, I have windows vista.

So I got Thief gold, and worked around the "will not install on NT" problem, and I load the training mission, and I get a black screen.

I change some settings in the options, and it loads, but when my first arrow hits the target, freeze.

Then after that, my game alternates between freezing at random, like when stepping on raised surfaces or clubbing a guard, and just not loading at all.
And once, it even loaded, let me spawn, and then froze as I touched the ground.

I looked at my specs, and I have two cores, so I tried the temporary fix, but access is denied. I don't have an Internet connection at home (I use my friends computer and my phone mostly) so I have to wait to try the other dual core fix.

If that doesn't work, I'll probably die, as I already have a severe headache from all the reading and failing. I kinda wanted anyone's opinion or anything helpful because I really want to play this game after seeing SS2.
