Running this on: Vista home premium sp2 amd athlon dual core processor 4450e, 3gig ram, ati raden 2100
The story so far:
The game installed without problems but the in game movies refuse to play.
I've tried all the solutions in the FAQ, indeo codecs refused to installed claiming newer version was already installed. Installed the alternate codecs to no avail.
Did all the regsvr32 stuff but only received error messages.
Then I read somewhere while searching these forums that you have to run the game as an administrator and lo and behold the movies work!
So I start playing only to realise that the game freezer after a few seconds of gameplay!!
Back to the FAQ, seems the doesn't like dual core processors. Tried through the task manager to set to only one processor but this gave me also an error message.
Did the permanent fix by placing the imagecfg file in windows/system32 folder etc.
Game works perfectly after that. I play the first three missions and the call it a night and turns off my pc.
Now today the movies refuses to work again!! They work a few seconds only to freeze up totally.
HELP!

Then I don't know what it could be. I did have a similar problem trying to install TG on a friend's laptop (Windows7, dual core). It didn't work in spite of everything I tried: Ddfix, compatibility, dual core fixes, etc... :(. It would start normally, but within 5 seconds of starting a mission it would crash. I never figured out what it could have been, especially as I have TG on my dual core Win7 x64 pc, and it works fine there...

Good news it seems! The original plan was to play through all the Thief series so when I couldn't get Gold to work I moved on to Thief 2.
I installed Thief 2 with Tafferpatcher and one of the options in the installation was to re register the indeo codecs, or something similiar. And that seems to have fixed my problem with TG as it has worked flawless since then.
:D
