Hi.
I went back to playing Thief Gold recently, after upgrading to an Nvidia Geforce 6200 videocard (yes, I installed the Thief Gold patch also) and now it crashes half the time when I go to start a new game or load one. It always crashes with FM's, so I can't play them, and about half the time with the original missions. I tried using the safe texture manager in the .cfg file, but it keeps crashing. I didn't have any problems before, when I was using an ATI card. Here are my specs:
XP Pro sp2
512RAM
Geforce6200 256mb
P3 1ghz
Is there any fix for this? Thanks
Azaran

I didn't even know you could use ddfix on Thief Gold.

seconded!
All the Dark Engine games work fine with the latest versions of DDFIX, though there are still a few kinks in Sio2s ddfix fork that may not work fully with Gold, I don't think.

Your Vista is the culprit hahahahahahahah :laff:
(anyway: what Sio2s is?)

The fog fix Si02 was working on.

Hmmmmm.. where the fog is supposed to be?? ..... Because I could miss it

The main fix was for the levels in Thief 2, so you may miss them in Gold (is there any fog in the levels in T1? I can't recall any). In particular, there is something wrong with the level design in "Life of the Party" that makes the fog work strangely. Someone released a fixed .mis file for that level, but for off-the-shelf workability, SiO2's fork should fix it all.

I don't think there's any fog in T1 or Gold. I think it's just a myth brought out by confusion...
