Thief gold not responding

Alright, when ever i open up thief gold and go to new game, start game, start training, then continue. my game closes and pop up comes saying "thief gold is not responding."
My computer info is as follows
processor: intel(R) core(YM) i7 CPU 920@2.67GHz, 2667 Mhz, 4 cores, 8 logical...
HDD: 931GB
Vid card: ATI radeon HD 5500 series
Adapter RAM 1.00 GB (1,073,741,824 bytes)

i also have a wide screen done the DDfix, widescreen fix as well as tried running it on 1 core. the wide screen fix did fix my problem from the beginning but now stuck with a new problems. please help.
