I'm also having problems getting the sound work in cutscenes now that I upgraded my sound card from audigy to Sound Blaster Recon3d. I was hoping reverting to an older alchemy version would do the trick but apparently the sound card doesn't support the older dll:s so I'm stuck using the 1.41 version.
Any workaround for this?

There is a later version of Alchemy Version 1.43.06 which does not have the movie sound issue (or any of the other issues I had with version 1.41), but Creative have marked it beta and only given it a limited distribution. You'll have to do a little bit of searching for it and if IIRC I didn't actually download it from Creative's site.

The problem is the 8-bit sound of the movies. I've created a patch that fixes this. Must be floating somewhere in this forum.
