I downloaded the codecs and still they don't work yet I can watch them cut scenes folder via windows media player.Yet they don't work in-game also the cut scenes for thief 2 work.Also system shock 2 cut scenes don't work.

I followed all those in the link because the scrooge fix also does not work for me.
Here is my system
Windows 7 64 home premium
ATI Radeon HD 3400 Video Card
Intel duel core 2.67 ghz processor.If your wondering they worked before and thief 2's cut scenes still work,but not the others for some odd reason.

I encountered a similar problem to this. Windows 7, Thief Gold and a DVD edition of Thief 2, using DDFix for both. Movies didn't play in Thief Gold no matter how many times I tried the various fixes available, but weirdly, movies did work in Thief 2 without an issue. Eventual cause of the problem appeared to be that Thief 2 was set to run in administrative mode automatically, but Thief Gold was not. Once I set TG to run in admin mode, movies played without a hitch.
