Well as the title states.....
Anyone else experience this? I suspect it is a driver issue with nvidia, I am using a new 9800 GTX OCX with the latest drivers.
Thief Gold runs fine at first after disabling a core and NOT using darkloader.
I added Darkloader, optimized the install and the game immediately crashes to desktop.:tsktsk:
Now I cant play thief without reinstalling the game:devil:
I have added the DDFIX, and all that.
Anyone have any clues?

Umm, I have no idea about the videocard stuff, but I think I had the same problem on my TDP FMs. (I lost my disk, so I can't check :( )
I solved the problem using <s>GarrettLoader</s> DarkLoader (whoops) for all the TDP/TG FMs, and it works fine. Just make sure TMA and DS are set to the OMs.

Try switching hardware off first, then playing the FM. Turning hardware on while being in-game.

I had the same problem after Darkloader optimized my Thief Gold installation. The game crashes a few seconds after launching it.

Does your TG folder have a directory named crfs? Does it have one named res? Which one has lots of .crf files in it?

Hi,
I wasn't sure if you were asking me to view my TG folder before or after I optimized with Darkloader, so I uninstalled and looked at the folder in both stages.
After doing a fresh installation of TG, there is no folder called "crfs" in C:\Program Files\ThiefGold. There is not one called "res" either. There are 12 .crf files in the directory.
Now, after installing DarkLoader 4.3 and letting it "optimize" my TG installation, there is no "Crf" directory but there is one "res". The 12 .crf files are now in the "res" folder.
After I did the fresh reinstallation of Thief Gold but before I ran Darkloader, I noticed that it would crash to the desktop whenever I went to a configuration screen and then hit "Done" to return to the main menu. Something's screwed up here.
I am running Windows XP SP3 and I have an NVIDA 8600GTs with the driver from May 2008. They just released a June 23rd driver; I'll install it to see if it helps but I doubt it. Thanks.
