Recently a friend of mine has introduced me to the thief series so i thought i'd play through it. I got my hands on a copy of thief gold installed it had it all working fine just a couple of days ago but then after a windows update (the update may have nothing to do with it) the game blackscreens and stops responding after attempting to load a level. I've tried reinstalling the game but that hasn't changed anything.
I run xp service pack 3 with a pentium 4 processor capable of hyperthreading.
anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?
*edit* i think i may have fixed this i was running it in compatibility mode in my earlier attempts to fix this problem after installing the executable patch for the game running it in compatibility mode cause some problems and th game spat the dummy.... as to why it worked before i don't have a clue.
