Thanks cast!
I'm hoping to get a mini photoshoot done when I debut it at an event next month. I will be on the lookout for some good locations!
I would have loved to wear a metallic or green contact lens for his mechanical eye, but I have to wear lenses anyway, and don't really want to damage my sight anymore by risking wearing 2 in one eye.
I love the first one too! And the side shot came out great as it appears my chest has disappeared XD

I just might pay you to make one for me! :cheeky:

@Keeper Joseph, now that would be interesting! It wasn't that hard to make, it was just sourcing all my materials that took the time. Not to mention only doing it at weekends and evenings. But now it's done and I'm pretty happy with the results. It's even quite comfortable to wear!

That is so awesome
Nice job on the arrows !

VERY well done, Donna!!!!! Most excellent indeed! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
Now all we need is a video of you sneaking thru the house in the near-dark. ;)

Thank you shadow and Dia! I can probably think of a lot of poses and funny shoots to do in this costume. I'm not really accustomed to night photography though. Does anyone have any tips?
Would anyone like some shots to work from for any art, too? Only I could try a few poses if you like!

Surprisingly nice and well done. I'd say the props are quite too shiny and you have a bit too much weight for the sake of impersonating a shadow thief, but this costume is well crafted, instantly recognisable and you pose rather well. It's probably one of the better cosplays I've seen in a while (not much I admit but still). Have fun with the night and outside shots. You went through the lengths of making the whole thing, surely a few degrees below zero shouldn't be enough to stop you >:] Try to find an old medieval city nearby!
EDIT: Forgetting why I wanted to post in the first place - so typical. Main tip for night photography: always use a tripod and the self-timer (or if you can, an external trigger). You won't manage any really satisfying shots without as you need to increase exposure times. Depending on the quality of the CCD, you'll also want to reduce ISO sensitivity (even below 100 if lighting is really scarce). That goes against what many people will tell but really, unless you have the best camera ever anything above 400 ISO will be a noisy mess. Also, light sensors are usually very bad at night so be ready to take some time adjusting your exposure settings manually beforehand.
And be ready to use Photoshop afterwards. Finding a correct white balance outside at night is pretty difficult.

I'm not much into cosplay (although I do appreciate well-made costumes) but I got to admit that you've done a good job there, Donna. I'm quite impressed by all the effort that you must have put in that costume, all the small details, and the potions and the weapons and the arrows everything. Well done :D
If you don't mind a little criticism (if you do, please skip the rest of this paragraph :p), I think that all that stuff on your belt is a bit too much... It kind of takes the attention away from the rest of the costume. Well, in a way I suppose it's realistic, Garrett has to put the stuff that he steals somewhere after all, I always just imagined that he hides them somewhere under his cloak and didn't think about it any further. :p It's no big deal though, and perhaps it looks better in different light.
And yes, it would be interesting to see some more "atmospheric" shots of you and your costume. Just don't get too carried away with all this and don't try breaking into the Buckingham Palace or something, or jumping down some tower with the help of a slow-fall potion...

Wow, thanks for all the help, advice and critiques everybody. I'll definitely take on board all I've read.
I have a great location in mind which I could possibly use, only its a bit of a trek to get to. Would be a perfect place though, and I'd be able to get in for free. It's a castle :)
I'll do some more searching around the uk for places I could visit and that are closer to me. There are a couple of cathedrals around. But somewhere like a Steamhouse or a factory would look good as well.
I'm not sure if I can find anything in Telford when I go. Don't really think there's anything like that near to where I'm staying.
