(*I stupidly posted this in Community Chat first, so I apologise for posting here too! I was told it would probably be better off here though!*)
Hi all! My name is Donna.
I'm new here and just thought I'd introduce myself by revealing that I am making a Garrett cosplay for next year, to attend events in Manchester and London UK.
There are no pictures yet, but I will upload some once the costume is taking shape, but here are the parts I've bought so far.
-Fibreglass bow
-Leather Arm guards/Bracers
-Wooden arrows and turkey feather flights
-Play food toy apple and cheese in wood
Yes, I'm going all out on this one!
I'm even going to buy some LED light sticks to create a glow in my elemental Gas, Water and Fire arrows.
I will have a belt of goodies including pouches full of chocolate coins, a blackjack that actually squeaks for amusement and hopefully keys and lock picks.
Thanks for reading!
I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions on this new venture of mine :)
I have a cosplayisland.co.uk page which will eventually show pictures of my progress and items I have. You can find it here:
(

You can also see my other cosplay creations on this page, too.

So let me get this right... you're a female, interested in Thief, interested in cosplay, playing around with dildoes (sorry, blackjacks) and leather? My, my, the taffers here will have a field day with you!
You don't also like to play Woodsie Lord and Viktoria (a kind of Thief version of Doctors and Nurses) do you by any chance? :ebil:

But of course! I'm sure not ALL Thief fans are male are they? Are they?....
I've never seen Garrett re-created before and couldn't wait to try out a cosplay for him.
Sometimes your sex doesn't matter when you really love a character.
I was thinking of cosplaying as Dyan or Viktoria but there just weren't enough costume references so I stuck with Garrett :)

Hi and welcome, when I saw your thread in commchat I figured you'll come here soon. :) Hope you'll like it here, there are some people here who made fantastic costumes based on the Thief games. But I think it has been some time since this topic came up.
And no, not all Thief fans are male. Only, since you're not supposed to be seen...

I'm seen all the time here, lots of women taffers around here. I'm female, welcome to the forum. Take lots of things around here with a grain of salt, you'll be ahead of the game.

And can I just apologise again for any remarks that I have said, say and indeed may say that come across as sexist, misogynist and/or chauvinist. Yeah, you do really have to take them with a pinch of salt. Women really are the superior ones! I know I couldn't live without them.

I was going to say you aren't the first female to go for the Garrett look, then link to Dia's photo on the photo album, but it seems our (
http://www.ttlg.com/photoalbum/) photo album is down. So ... you'll have to use your imagination.
But anyway, good luck on your project. :thumb:

Haha! That's quite alright! I'm not offended and I don't usually take things to heart. I'm pretty easy going when it comes to jokes and things.
I am excited about this project though and have actually crossplayed as men before. I made a Mortal Kombat Scorpion outfit last year and some people actually thought I was male, which was funny, really :)

How refreshing! A man who knows his place. :joke:
Apologies and here's the salt. ;)
What are the events that you are going to donnamevans? I'll be watching your page I think - I haven't taken much notice of costumes before.
