I don't know if you're familiar with this video piece. Pure gameplay, without any commentaries.
I think ambience is great, aggressive note while knocking guard out is pretty good, too. What I don't like is annoying *
whoosh-ptang* sound when new objectives pop-up onto screen (in brothel), and the whole idea of these big pop-ups seems like immersion-killer to me. It could be less intrusive, shown at the bottom of the screen maybe (and with smaller font).
And what are your thoughts?

Oh my god the VA is still shit. The FOV is painfully low. The swooshing noises are very distracting and loud. Other than that, while the game isn't abysmal, it does look incredibly unremarkable and forgettable.

I think VA of guards isn't that bad, in the world of Thief they are common uneducated people after all... But yes, these swooshing sounds are painful. And why bother with switching UI off if big objective letters gonna pop-up anyway? We're gonna see if it is toggleable, too (but I'm afraid it isn't).

It's footage from the PS4, so the FOV is tuned for couch gaming; the PC version will apparently have a controllable FOV. I agree with the rest however, and this video enforces how much I dislike Romano Orzari. If I end up ever owning Thief, I will absolutely be playing it with Garrett's voice disabled, (not to mention the horrid music).

Pretty sure it is, there is another video floating around where they go over all the options menus and I recall the ability to turn off pretty much everything.

Yup, thanks for sharing (I've seen this before on screenshots only). I wonder if objective pop-ups are somehow linked with "journal updates" or "location updates". Variety of options is amazing, I must admit.
