Okay, so I've been having some problems getting TDS to play for longer than 5 minutes on my main computer. Still trying to deal with that problem, but I thought hey, it might work in the VirtualPC:
So I install the game on the VirtualPC (XP Pro SP2 32-bit with an emulated graphics card: VM Additions S3 Trio32/64), and it gives me an error complaining that the disc is not authenticate (which it is). So I patch the game to version 1.1, no luck. Install Garrettloader, same problem though it would half of the time just do nothing but give me that Send Windows an error report message. So I install the Editor (which definitely has a no-CD executable as my DVD-drive has no increased noise) and now the game just gives me that Windows send error report message.
Note: When I say it does nothing, I mean it does nothing: double-click, a second or two later, error report message.
Specs:
Virtual HD
Windows XP 32-bit SP2
VM Additions S3 Trio32/64
Intel Core 2 Quad Processor (my main computer's processor)
Edit: nevermind, I need a pixel shader and I tried an emulator for pixel shader 1.1 and it had terrible performance in the menu and crashed going into the game...

it might work in the VirtualPC:.
I have tested and run T2 in the latest version of beta of Vmware Workstation 7(t2 wont run on any other virtual machine emulator), the only reason I have done an announcement is because there is still a 3min load time between missions when in game. But other than that its very playable, very impressed I was.

Even if you were able to get past the disc check, this alone would keep you from playing the game. TDS requires a graphics card capable of at least Pixel Shader 1.1. In other words, you'd need a VM capable of emulating at least a Radeon 8500/Geforce 3 era card.
