hi. i've been having a lot of trouble with TDS. it freezes pretty frequently whenever i hit escape and go to load game pages. or even after i finish a mission, it gets stuck on the debriefing. i'd really appreciate some help with this issue.

i have windows vista 64-bit home, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 512, AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.11 GHz, 4.00 GB memory.

also, when i do successfully load the game, Garrett keeps jumping up and down and zooming in and out from first person to third person view.

It's definitely worth struggling to get it working even though it is TDS.

But you need to hunt through the game with far more care and energy than you are showing trying to get it going. :erg:

right but, nothing on that page solves any of the problems i'm having with TDS.

ok. i'm in the main menu. i click on the "load game" option. sometimes it freezes and sometimes it doesn't. when i actually get to load the game, sometimes Garrett jumps up and down after the game has loaded. also, sometimes the game freezes when i try to read books or whenever i try to read objectives. i don't know how to be more clearer than that.

Weird, it sure sounds like the (http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=75031#hyperthread) T1/T2 multicore issue, but I don't think TDS suffers from it. Sorry I'm not more help.

Feel guilty about my initial post. It was your double post and initially being in the wrong forum and my irritable mind. :(
If you can't get any joy here, try a couple of places on the Eidos forums (http://forums.eidosgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73) here or (http://forums.eidosgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=7) here.

The other possibility is to get (http://www.game.co.uk/PC/Action/~r343143/Thief-The-Complete-Collection/?recommended=SEARCH) this, which is a new issue of all 3 Thief games (with Gold for TDP:thumb:).
I don't know how they'll work it but you'll have bought a new product and if they tell you it will work on your spec they may have a decent tech help line.
(Though the guys here are second too none).

Are you using USB meeses, or controllers? Thief does not like those.

If so do a search in the tech forums for USB, and see what comes up. There have been a number of fixes regarding USB devices and problems with THIEF.
