Hi im new to the forum.. and to the thief series for that.
I have a problem with the game, and i was hoping some of you could help me..
Im in shalebridge cradle and whenever i start playing, not before too long garrett starts creeping (like when you press ctrl) automatically and i cant stop him from do it... this has prevented me from making further progress--- Has this happened to anyone here? thnks

I'm afraid I'm not at all technically minded so I can't help you but I'm sure someone will be able to soon.

Windows + certain keyboards especially have trouble with multiple keys being pressed and its like it gets STUCK on, try bringing up the menu with escape a few times and see if it goes away.
The next question if it continues to happen would be more information about your system.

Does this only happen in the Shalebridge Cradle mission then, or do you get the same problem if you replay one of the earlier missions for example?

Its a windows 7 notebook...
i will try the solutions you explained and get back to you..
and i will test and try to see if it happens on earlier missions

Thief has problems with multi-core CPUS and with USB mice and game pads. There are some solutions offered in the TECH forums. If you are using a USB device (mouse, game pad etc.) do a search here in the tech forums and on EIDOS using USB as the keyword. Also 'multi-core CPU.
I don't know if the problem is W7 or one of the other common Thief factors.

I dont really use a usb keyboard so thats not it...
does anybody else have ideas? i really love the game so i dont wanna stop here

Are you sure he's actually creeping? The biggest problem I encountered with Thief Deadly Shadows is where he'd occasionally start floating. Starting to shoot an arrow (but cancelling instead of actually firing it) seemed to fix it for me and it might be worth giving it a shot.
