Finally I did it: the update makes some mess with drivers. Better installing Windows 10 from scratch using the image provided by Microsoft using this tool:
(
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10) and following the instruction on the "
Perform a clean installation using a USB or DVD" section, no unofficial patches needed.

@Linda, imho you could have saved yourself a lot of effort but not install the crapshow/keylogger/privacy invader/gamebreaker that is Win10.

Is it really that bad? Is Win 8.1 keylogger and privacy invader too?

Yes windows 10 is that bad and no Win8/8.1 dosent have any of that crap hard coded into the OS.
I would strong urge anyone/everyone to go back to win7/8 for the time being -
1. because it still breaks various games/apps.
2. its still cant be considered as stable OS and has a bunch of showstopping bugs.
3. to clearly demonstrate to M$ that they need to remove all the 'hardcoded" spyware from upcomining versions of win10.

also remember, be very, very careful what updates you allow when running 7/8/8.1 - a lot of win10 crap can get loaded into older systems as well.

Only the nagware, M$ did try and auto-download Win10 upgrade as a recomened update untill they were caughtredbhanded and had to disable that particular bullshit.
User can disable the nagware permantly using (
http://ultimateoutsider.com/downloads/) gwx controlpanel. and just set windows update to important updates only by unticking 'recomended updates'

With the latest Windows 10 updates the games still keeps to freeze before starting, then it crashes. This is regarding the Windows 10 testing on a virtual machine (VMware).

Completely true: once I tried to make all the updates, the optionals too, and TDS didn't start anymore... lucky me that I had a restore point of just before.
