um, monitor brightness controls?
It should be good to give a chance trying the settings on the nVidia panel.

what I'm trying to say is that running the game with the sneaky update and having to adjust gamma manually on the monitor or via the gpu control panel still beats NOT being able to play at all.

Some more information would be useful: Game version, installation path, registry values, what exactly happens when you try to launch? When you say vanilla install is that a fresh install on Win10 or did you upgrade and then it was broken?
From your posts in the T3 EG it's clear that you're no T3 newcomer, and that you have the editor installed. Do you have a separate install for the editor?
Installing the Sneaky Upgrade will replace the file that's changed by the legacy widescreen patch and restore it on uninstall. So there should be no harm in installing the SU temporarily just to see if it helps. (You may even want to keep it. :p)

Sorry, but I will not install it, I prefer other patches. I'm asking for a Microsoft assistance. Anyway my new OS is an upgrade.

Here's a wild guess: You're actually (

Anyway, if you hear back from Microsoft, please do let us know about it.

I'm a close friend of him but I am a girl! Can we come back to the topic?

well, don't expect much love in the "here is a solution you can try" "but I don't like it!" scenario.

tried to launch unreal 2003 with the latest patch and I got this error:
