Yeah, as the title says it.
I don't know why it does that, but it always does so during around 2 to 5 minutes of gameplay. The game will freeze and the screen will turn into some random colour. I can't restart my computer, I can only do a hard reset.
I heard this happens because of overclocking, but I'm not overclocking anything at all. Could it be because of my CPU's "Turbo-Boost" mechanic?

Might be your video card overheating.
bikerdude on 27/1/2014 at 20:18
it dosen't sound like the CPU, it sounds more like the GPU (your gfx card) is over heating and probably on its way to the here after.
What is the card and how old is it.?
Necrohowl on 28/1/2014 at 15:05
I doubt it is my GPU but I can't doubt it. I got this GPU at 2008, so it's pretty much 5 to 6 years old, maybe even more. It's an Nvidia GTX 285.
I watched the temperature and it was less than 85C on intensive games. Didn't try TDS, but last time I tried on UT2004 (I mention this one since TDS uses its engine), it was 78C max.
I once opened my GTX 285, it had a lot of dust on it, so I removed it.

Your card is old as shit and coming to the end of its useful life. Get a new one.

If I may make a suggestion:
Do not use the latests NVidia drivers !They are still buggy and totally unreliable (for older graphics cards, that is).
And random crashes are actually the best to expect, even when just browsing the internet.
Before you buy a new graphics card (I don't see why a GTX 285 should be too old for a game that is waaayyy older):
get the
v314.22 of the drivers and see if that helps.

All newer drivers have issues.
Do a complete uninstall of the entire NVidia stuff under 'Add Programs' and install the 314 drivers instead.

Nothing lasts forever. There's a real chance the card is starting to die.

Would you happen to be a politician in real-life?

Get a new one.
Isn't there a song or/and excuse called "If I had money..."?

Considering I contradicted myself without realizing I contradicted myself, I could be a politician in real-life even if I'm obviously not a politician in real-life.
I'm just too stupid and careless from all the industrial work, forgive me.
What I meant is that I don't think it is because of my GPU overheating due to what I mentioned, yet the videocard is old indeed and you can't always trust an old thing, dunno about an old human.

How can you be so sure about that? I'd like some proof before I start, yet again, some more attempts at making Driver puree.

 That proof is impossible... unless you intend to visit me at home.
A simple upgrade on my machine and we will see crashes within a few minutes.
Well, search the internet for known issues for your GPU and see what other people say.
I could post quite a couple of links to threads where people report having problems.
But it wouldn't proof anything... there are always people around complaining.
So, you get a coloured screen ? Proof it ! ;)
While I am a fan of always using the latest drivers, Microsoft Updates, Antivirus, etc.... you simply have to accept that the support for older hardware is reduced by various companies at some point.
And one option is to go with the last good drivers.
It is a quite simple test to downgrade your drivers, so what are a you afraid of?
If it doesn't work, just update again.
Or buy some new hardware right away if you don't care about the money.
