I recently got Thief: Deadly Shadows, My first thief game by the way(Pretty great!) only problem I have with it is, whenever I go to a new area it minimizes to desktop and loads another T3main.exe and brings it back up, this is frustrating when im broadcasting on xfire because it screws up the broadcast, is there a way to make the game Not do this and load from the single t3.exe? it's very frustrating.
Also my specs are as follows:
Manufacturer: HP-Pavilion
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) II X4 620 Processor (4 CPUs), ~2.6GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Hard Drive: 627 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 512MB
Sound Card: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)
Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (6.1, Build 7600) (7600.win7_rtm.090713-1255)

I remember the problem you describe, though I didn't realise it was due to the gaming starting another process, I'd never checked. Unfortunately, ISA didn't do their best work with the Unreal 2 engine for Thief 3 and DX 2.
I'm afraid I'm not aware of any fix for that issue, nor am I familiar with xfire, but I bumped into (
http://www.tweakguides.com/TDS_8.html) this article on Tweak Guides which mentions two processes running for Thief 3. I don't think it's what you're looking for, but maybe it wouldn't hurt to skim that bit in the off chance it has something useful for you, or may point you to somewhere you can find an answer.

Yeah i've been to that site but it didn't have the answer i was looking for unfortuantly the only thing i can hope for is an official patch or fan made patch.

I don't think the engine has something to do with it. :weird:
What have you done to assign the game executables to only one CPU core? Some Dual (or rather Quad) Core Optimizer perhaps...? Otherwise I wouldn't wonder about that. Does it work without xfire? Talkong about fan patches, I think the GarrettLoader (see fan mission sub-forum) has a feature of fixing the multi core issue, but I'm not sure about that right now. Personally I have the zoneLINK MultiCore Optimizer which saves settings for different programs. AFAIK.

Hi, my current computer is doing this too, BUT I also don't have any progress saving options. I think its because I'm using vista.
When my other computer was still working fine, about 6 years ago, I was running XP and had no problems with the game then. also ran it at 64 bit on the same computer. Was using a NVidia card same as DarkShadowX ...with similar processing power.
I'm hoping for a fix so that I can at least save progress; :erm:
I clocked that game back then, but my son visited me recently, and he wanted to play it again. He never got to see it clocked.

Has there ever been a fix for this? It isn't a huge deal but slightly immersion breaking. I am running this game on windows 8.1.
