Having recently gotten in the mood to go through these games again,I went to go play them but there was one problem the cutscenes won't play either for the missions or the intro so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the games and uninstalling the klite codec and still nothing.I have no idea what to do to get the cutscenes back so I can start playing through the series again.I haven't had any problems with them for awhile until now so I have no clue whats causing the issues.By the way I am running them has an administrator and have tried compatibility mode. The games affected are
Thief Gold,Thief 2 The Metal Age and Thief 2X Shadows of the Metal Age which I just recently downloaded for the first to because I finally wanted to go through it.Could someone please help get my cutscenes working because I am dying to play these games again.

try renaming or moving the movies folder and see if that gets the game running.try opening the movies with media player and see if they play.
posting your full system specifications and listing all patches and fixes you have used on your thief install is also a good idea.

The game runs its the cut scenes that don't,my configuration or hardware hasn't changes at all I still have an ati radeon hd 3400 series video card and I am still running windows 7 64 bit so there were no variable changes their to mess it up.I tried running the cutscenes in the folder for all three work in windows media play but don't play in game at all.I just tried all of them again and for some reason thief 1 and 2 work now but when I try T2X it crashes, same when even try to start a mission. So now its a matter of helping get T2X running.I have no idea what happened but now those cutscenes work, but best not question lest they stop working.

That didn't work, and I always use ddfix I can't play thief without crashing if I didn't use ddfix.Do you mean using ddfix in the T2X folder.I have no clue what to do.Should I overwrite anything when I extract ddfix into the t2x folder.

yes,you have to copy ddfix.dll and ddfix.ini to both t2 and t2x folder.do you have some error message when t2x crashes?

I did for TG and T2 but I was wondering if I need to extract to T2X and overwrite anythings it wants to overwrite then use the GUI.No I am not getting a specific error I get to the menu but when I click the intro button or start game its crashes to the desktop saying thief 2 stopped responding thought I am playing T2X but it is based of T2 so that makes sense but I am having no problems with TG or T2.What do I do to fix T2X and is their anything I should do to make the games run better on windows 7.

yes,you need to do it.
have you installed the t2x codec? its in the t2x/codec folder..you can also try renaming the movies folder in t2x and see if that gets you ingame.

I did install the codec that and the codec necessary was also in the klite codec pack, the cutscenes work in the folder but not ingame. So now that I extracted the contents of ddfix into the t2x folder what do I do,because it won't let you use the GUI.
