Which means simmer down with the death threats, folks. I'm sure TTLG doesn't want to get involved in yet another FBI investigation.

Waht. Okay, so we ended up at the Hague thanks to Supermario### (which GBM handled beautifully, btw - we won the case, TTLG was exonerated, and we all lived happily ever after), but now the it's the FBI and death threats? I don't even ...... Guess I must've missed something. ;) TTLG may be being 'watched', but that still doesn't mean anyone at EM is really listening, imo, or it wouldn't be called a reboot. Afaic about any 'changes' EM may have made to the game due to fan criticism and/or opinion; I still say those changes are lip-service at best. :p
Frankly, I have no issues against those who are looking forward to NuThief; I cast no aspersions on their characters and wish them well. In the past I've stated my dislikes of various aspects of T4 and my resentment towards what EM is doing with this alleged 'Thief' game and haven't changed my mind so far. I just find it rather hypocritical that some who seem to be happily anticipating T4's release continue to take to task and criticize those of us who are less than thrilled and/or even disappointed with EM's development of this game. Those less thrilled by T4 are just as entitled to their opinions as everyone else and are perhaps more than a tad weary of the 'you need to get onboard and love this game because it's probably the only 'Thief' game that'll ever be released evar again' attitudes. No; we don't need to love it or even accept it. And that's okay.

What's your buying status Dia? Are you going to be making a day one purchase, waiting for the discount bin, or not buying at all?

I know what you mean by "negative feedback", but with respect to TTLG, I think the term is a bit ambiguous. :p
From what I've seen, both the removable HUDs (aka the so-called oldschool mode) and the floating arms were introduced/tweaked after initial fan criticism. Also, the forums (including TTLG) seem to be watched very carefully, so if we want a chance to change things in our way, we should always remain constructive in our criticism -- and polite obviously.
TTLG being mean again to lil ol' Thief 4. oh lawdy lawd someone stop this big bully!

@Brethren: I honestly have no intention of buying T4. Actually, I probably won't have to since I have an old friend (kind of a recluse-type gamer - only leaves his house when it's absolutely necessary) who buys pretty much any and every newly released game; we keep in touch via ooVoo or e-mail (on rare occasions he'll even call) so he knows what kinds of games interest me. So when he comes across a game he knows might be up my alley he'll usually just drop by and leave it between my storm door and front door after he's played said game (that's how I've ended up with quite a few games) with an accompanying short note. Most often he doesn't want the games back, but every now & then I've ended up buying games he's dropped off on-loan, like Morrowind & Oblivion. I remember when I came home from work one day to find a copy of TDS stuck in between my front doors with a note that said (something to the effect of) 'Store wouldn't refund my money. Play this travesty if you have the stomach and let the garbagemen have it afterwards. P.S. Don't say I didn't warn you. It sucks.' ;) I usually trust his judgement, except when it came to Deus Ex; he abhorred DX:IW and I liked it, he mostly hated DX:HR and I mostly loved it.
I know there have been a few games he just threw in the trash himself because he said he didn't want to insult me by giving them to me; he's already predicting T4 will be another one of those 'instant bonfire-fuel' games. Yeah, he's a seriously die-hard Thief fan and has been visiting the Thief Forums here at TTLG for the last 10 years or so; as a guest, of course, since he refuses to join forums, clubs, etc.

If everything that gets voiced here was merely criticism or personal disappointment, there wouldn't be an issue. What we
do have, however, is an awful lot of
ad hominem bashing against the devs (although the term
ad hominem even suggests some sort of stylistic cover) which has no benefit unless there's something good in permanently deteriorating the relationship between game developers and the fan community. Calling this stuff "criticism" or "opinion" is just as hypocritical. Thinking about it, scratch the "as". I don't see any hypocrisy in criticising the haters while looking forward to T4.
I was about to comment on that Llame post, too, but I cannot bring myself to assume that there was some depth in it worth answering.

No, you were there, but I'm not surprised you don't remember. I can't recall exactly how it went down, but you learned of something that wasn't supposed to be known, which in turn led...I think it was Scots Taffer...to slip quantities of Benzodiazepine into your drinks over the course of a month.
It's all vague from there, but I do know a remnant faction of the KGB got involved, and it's the primary reason why Digital Nightfall doesn't post around here anymore.
Also there was a donkey.
nickie on 8/10/2013 at 06:31
The less said about the donkey, the better.
Dia on 8/10/2013 at 13:19
Omg that was a donkey? :weird:
I vaguely remember nickie giving a passionate speech; I think it had something to do with hamsters and daffodils? Or was it hedgehogs? After that all I recall is someone clapping their hand over my mouth every time I said 'KGB' and then I got locked in a closet for an indeterminate amount of time. I think. And someone (I won't mention any names here) nicked my blackjack, btw. I miss that blackjack. I called it 'Cuddles'.
Damn Scots anyway! He told me they were Shirley Temples.
And contrary to what was said, I NEVER broke into Digi's room to take selfies of me trying on his hats. All lies, I tell you!
Ah, good times.
P.S. Send me your address, Renz; I've been meaning to return your boxers - you know, the ones with the pics of Darth Vader and Obi Wan dueling.
nickie on 8/10/2013 at 17:25
You've got a better memory than I have - I didn't think I was even there. But, if I was, it would have been hedgehogs.
