Following up on the Thief AI art thread, I've been playing around with (https://chat.openai.com/chat) ChatGPT (thanks dema), and asking it to create Thief-related content.

Hammerite hymns:

With hammer in hand, he forms the earth
And with his wisdom, he gives it worth

A scene: Garrett confronts Viktoria and Constantine (the AI thinks they're thieves too)

Garrett crept through the shadows, his footsteps nearly silent on the cobblestone street. He had been tracking Viktoria and Constantine for weeks, ever since they had stolen a valuable artifact from the city's museum.

Garrett knew that they would be meeting tonight in the old abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city, and he was determined to catch them in the act.

He reached the warehouse and carefully slipped inside, his eyes adjusting to the dim light. He could see Viktoria and Constantine across the room, talking in hushed tones.

Garrett drew his blackjack and crept closer, staying out of sight. When he was close enough, he leapt out from the shadows and landed behind the thieves.

"Viktoria, Constantine, I've been looking for you," Garrett said, his voice low and menacing.

The thieves spun around, surprise and fear written on their faces.

"Garrett, you shouldn't have come here," Viktoria said, her hand moving to her belt where she kept her daggers.

"I'm here to take back what you stole from the museum," Garrett said, his eyes flicking between the two thieves. "And to make sure you never steal from the city again."

Constantine laughed, a cruel sound that echoed through the warehouse. "You think you can take us both on? You're no match for us, Garrett."

Garrett smiled, his eyes glinting in the dim light. "That's where you're wrong, Constantine. I may not be able to match your strength, but I have something that you don't: skill and cunning."

Viktoria and Constantine attacked at the same time, their blades flashing in the light. But Garrett was ready for them, his movements swift and graceful as he dodged their attacks and countered with his own.

The thieves were no match for Garrett's superior training and experience, and before long they lay on the ground, defeated and out of breath.

Garrett retrieved the stolen artifact from where they had hidden it and turned to leave the warehouse.

"You may have won this time, Garrett," Viktoria said, her voice filled with hate. "But we'll be back, and next time we won't be so easy to defeat."

Garrett didn't reply, simply disappearing into the shadows as he made his way back into the city. He knew that Viktoria and Constantine would be back, but he was ready for them. He was the city's greatest thief, and he would stop at nothing to protect the city from criminals like them.

A hymn to the Trickster

In the deep, dark woods
Where the trees reach for the sky
There dwells the Woodsie Lord,

He hears the rustling leaves

Garrrett gets caught in a Hammer temple:

As Garrett crept through the shadows of the Hammerite temple, he knew he was taking a risk. He was an expert thief, but the Hammerites were known for their advanced security measures.

Garrett made his way through the temple, using his lockpicks and his trusty blackjack to disable alarms and knock out guards. He moved with the silence and grace of a cat, always staying in the shadows.

But despite his best efforts, Garrett eventually made a mistake. As he was attempting to crack open a safe hidden behind a painting, he heard a loud alarm go off. He cursed under his breath and knew he had been caught.

He quickly gathered his tools and made a break for the nearest window, hoping to escape before the Hammerites could catch him. But it was too late. He heard the sound of pounding footsteps and knew that the guards were closing in on him.

Garrett drew his sword and prepared to fight, but he was outnumbered. The Hammerites quickly overpowered him and dragged him off to the temple's prison cell.

As he sat in his cell, waiting for his fate to be decided, Garrett couldn't help but feel regret. He had been so close to getting away with the loot, but his greed had ultimately been his downfall.

But even in defeat, Garrett remained defiant. He was a thief, and he would not let this setback keep him down for long. He vowed to escape from the Hammerite temple and continue his life of crime.

I gave the AI a general description of the Keepers and then asked it to provide ten tenets.

The Keepers are a secret society of scribes, prophets, and magicians dedicated to the preservation of knowledge and the maintenance of balance in the City.

The Keepers collect and safeguard books and other artifacts of knowledge, hidden away in secret sanctuaries throughout the City.

The Keepers are sworn to secrecy and discretion, and must never reveal their true identities or the location of their sanctuaries to outsiders.

The Keepers are charged with monitoring the events of the City, and intervening when necessary to prevent chaos and disorder.

The Keepers possess magical abilities, granted to them by their study of ancient texts and rituals.

The Keepers are guided by a set of ancient laws and principles, known as the Tenets of the Keepers, which govern their actions and guide their decisions.

The Keepers are bound by a sacred oath to serve the greater good, and to use their powers only for the benefit of the City and its inhabitants.

When I asked the AI to give a Hand Mage initiation ritual:

The Hand Mages initiation ritual is a sacred and ancient tradition, passed down from generation to generation. It is a rite of passage for young mages who wish to join the ranks of the Hand Mages and become true practitioners of elemental magic.

The initiation ritual begins with the mages gathered in a circle, each holding a small candle. The candles represent the elements, and the mage who is to be initiated stands in the center of the circle.

The leader of the Hand-Mages begins the ritual with a prayer to the elements. "Great spirits of the elements, we humbly ask for your guidance and wisdom. Hear our prayers and bestow upon us your power. May our magic be strong and true, and may we use it wisely and with great responsibility."

The other mages then repeat the prayer in unison, and the leader lights the candles of the four elemental mages. These mages are the guardians of the elements, and will serve as the conduit for the elements during the initiation.

The leader then begins the invocations, calling upon each of the elements in turn. "Spirits of water, we call upon you to cleanse and purify. May your power flow through us and guide us on our path. Spirits of air, we call upon you to bring clarity and insight. May your winds of knowledge guide us and keep us on the path of truth. Spirits of earth, we call upon you to provide strength and stability. May your power give us the grounding we need to withstand the trials of the journey. Spirits of fire, we call upon you to bring passion and drive. May your flames burn within us and inspire us to greatness."

The mages then repeat the invocations in unison, and the leader beckons the initiate to step forward. The initiate kneels before the leader, who places a hand on their forehead and speaks the words of the oath. "By the power of the elements, I hereby swear to uphold the traditions and teachings of the Hand-Mages. I will dedicate myself to the study of elemental magic, and I will use my powers for good and for the protection of all. May the elements guide and protect me, now and always."

The initiate then repeats the oath, and the leader blesses them with the elements, one by one. The water mage sprinkles water over the initiate's head, the air mage blows air over them, the earth mage touches the ground to their forehead, and the fire mage holds a candle flame to their hand.

The initiation is complete, and the initiate is now a full-fledged member of the Hand-Mages, ready to embark on their journey as a practitioner of elemental magic.

can someone try to see what the fake a.i. can come up with for the prophecies of thief 3 to see if we can possibly get more info of what is to come=you never know what might be found

These are nice and fun, especially the stories. Those are very well written. I just imagined the Trickster dressing as a Thief then outmatched by Garrett :cheeky:

The Hammerite and Pagan prayers are in my opinion, too much based on Christian tenets and like the God named Builder and the God named Trickster and put into a green robe :)
They both lack the traits of their respective religion:
- the hammer, the chisel (and whatever tool I forgot they often mention) is barely mentioned or completely missing from that prayer which is I think a must have in Hammerite sacred texts
- the Pagan one also uses the wrong terms: it's a way too much loving and protective version of Constantine, completely lacking the gritty style of revenge, destruction and nature taking back what is theirs

They're a nice touch yet still :)

The AI doesn't do Mechanists well, but extremist Protestant\Calvinist technocrats would be the closest real life parallel I think

Yeah I'm aware of the Hammerite-Catholic paralell (I'm not familiar enough with Orthodox, but probably also true for them)

You made me intrigued if I could make some interesting Mechanist speech. But the bot is now unavailable due to excessive amount of users in the moment, oh well.
Maybe if I don't forget it, I'll see it myself :)
