It's just a trailer, but to me, Thief is about Garrett. The City is the primary setting, but he could be anywhere as far as I'm concerned - The Bonehoard, The Lost City, The Maw, The Kurshok temple, whatever. That said, I'll be very interested to see what type of backstory or history they give him.

The voice acting in the trailer is far more boring than I think, and the whole things showing here is just not, not real thief. I feel dizzy and think I'll never play this "assassin's creed" like thief.
It will release on 2014/02/25
what do you guys think?

This.
But hey it's a reboot so anything goes. :p

What struck me about this trailer is how utterly contrived the environments are compared to the original Thief and its design principles. In the first two games, they built the levels first to be realistic portrayals and then designed the missions around them.
Contrast to this:

http://i.imgur.com/lkxy4xIl.jpgCould you get a more Assassins Creed style manufactured environment? The walkways are clearly there for the player, not the citizens, because having 3 tiers of rickety external scaffolding around your house makes zero sense. This shows up repeatedly throughout the trailer, indicating it's an endemic design choice. :nono:
According to the grapevine, the release date is so soon because they've been given an ultimatum from Square Enix and were denied any further extensions on development time or funding. If you waste money on this, expect something Colonial Marines levels of unfinished.

Evidence or it never happened.

It makes complete sense, but yeah, I'd like to see a link or a source. You must have heard or read it from somewhere you can cite.
thiefinthedark on 16/8/2013 at 16:58
I suggest you take that with as much salt as you feel necessary, because I can't provide any hard sources. This is coming from a very old friend who has contacts currently employed at Eidos Montreal.
These people aren't happy to be working on this project since the industry in Canada is going to pot, and it's hard enough to find work right now without having the biggest title on your resume be a trainwreck so huge that it killed a studio.

<strike>Sorry for the double post</strike>, but...oh god. Now that we have a release date, are we going to get:
"Pre-order now and get the following bonuses! A set of silk pajamas for Garrett to wear in his Clocktower hideout, and an all new weapon type, the Blinding Arrow! Only available for a limited time! Or order the Super Taffin Deluxe Edition and get The Invisibility Camouflage Cloak and the Auto Speed Loader Lockpick!"

February does seem surprisingly soon, doesn't it?
One more thing in the development of thief 4 that looks a bit chaotic and all over the place, at least from the outside. There's never any direct evidence that things are screwed up inside EM, but there's always enough circumstantial evidence to keep you on your toes.

Some of that is entirely likely. I hate these pre-order bonuses but didn't DXHR have some?
I'd like the silk pyjamas though. Do we get satin sheets to match?
