I think it's cute, Renzatic. Hey Goldmoon, if you're feeling flustered how about you let out some of that anger with me? I'm always down to cuddle.
I'd be careful, man. I bet he kicks and bites and wears wizard hats and stuff. :P
Though to argue what you said, I never had much trouble picking useful stuff out from the background noise with all the HUD bling turned off in DX:HR. There'd be a couple of times when I'd try to grab something I thought was grabbable, and it ended up not being the case, but it was fairly rare.
And hell, that happens in ever game ever.
As for the random clutter for the sake of it, that's not true at all. In games like DX and Thief, the environments are there to tell a story and give you a sense of place as much as they are to convey the gameplay. The little random details don't distract, they add to the overall experience.
HR was particularly good about that, too. Every place you visited in that game felt lived in, and would give you tiny little clues about the lives of the people there. I'd much rather have detailed environments that feel like actual worldly places, than ones that are sparsely detailed simply to make it easier to tell what's interactive, and what's not.

I wasnt talking about me. I havent been remotely angry about anything. I have merely observed it, and watched one friend and others leave here because of it!
Have you ever stopped to think that the hostility you and yours tend to end up being on the receiving end of isn't so much about what you're saying, but rather how you're saying it?
Like Fatspy is more in your camp when it comes to an opinion about the game. But I don't think he's annoying at all, because he brings up points that are well thought out, and have at least some basis in reality. That's a complete 180 to what you usually do.

Old school mode won't really matter if the level design, gaurd ai, and a variety of other things are absolute crap.

I don't think the guard AI could be any worse than it was in the first 2 games. Then again, AI is nearly always the weakest link in otherwise fine games.

Overly forgiving, deaf, blind, instantly know where you are, super senses, etc.

Instantly knowing where you are? Like how they make a beeline directly for you in the first 2 games even after you've broken line of sight and found a new shadow to hide in?

It's always good knowing that when you don't have any more room to maneuver, you always fall back on the same tired rhetoric you've been sprouting out practically since day one.
No Renz, you just don't get what Goldmoon is trying to explain! This is how the games industry works:
A game is announced.
Then it is in cowardly hiding until the release date.
At which time it is exposed by the light of the Builder's Truth.

Lay down thy hammer, friends, 'tis yesteryear's trappings.
GodzillaX8 on 14/2/2014 at 07:26
Yeah, if we want to talk about terrible AI, the first two games are the poster boy examples of that.
SubJeff on 14/2/2014 at 07:29
Do you think we can talk about old school mode now?
