You're giving yourself way too much credit as some kind of LGS/Thief guru and master. Of course I recognize them, I believe that first one is a conversation from Cragscleft. Sure, I don't have everything memorized, but that hardly precludes me from being a diehard Thief fan. I'm guessing you didn't type those out from memory either, and there was a copy/paste in there somewhere.

Guys, guys! Can't we all be one happy family of Thief-loving zealots? The real enemy here is mass consumerism! Or something like that. I'm not sure.

One minute we are realizing all over again how terrible this new game is gonna be for us hardcores, and the next minute I cant recite Hammer tenets for fear that EM might stop by and see it.

Seconded. Brothers and sisters, we should support each other in this ankward situation, or our enemies will take advantage of our dismemberment. :ebil:

I'd love it if we all got on, especially as we're all pretty much in agreement about the contextual, and idiotic, nature of the gameplay.
I wish we could present a united front as Thief fans, seeing as TTLG is the real bastion of hardcore fans who like the game for pretty much the same reasons. The EM forum has some fans who might fit in here but the thing is most of them are immature idiots and the rest of them are... as loopy tunes as jtrhatekru!
Which kind of undermines us as the "sensible" ones.
It's really hard to present a logical argument to EM re: their silly decisions when some of us are frothing and panting like rabid mongrels.
Imagine tying to present an argument in court or a business proposal. No matter how good your reasoning is if your partner keeps piping in with "and thus said the mighty... RHUBARB" you're not going to be taken seriously, and that is essentially what jtrhatekru do. The worst part of it is that Goldmoon Dawn is a prolific poster with good Thief knowledge and so is potentially a good asset AND you admit, both in threads and on PM to me that you know you are a fanatic. We can't do anything about Vae because he has no insight . . . But Goldmoon, you're just a waste.
And fyi I didn't recognise the quotes as from the game, but they were clearly in a Hammerite style and its just silly to use that kind of language.

I agree. There's some clown there that is dismissing this community as trivial and unimportant. For all its ups and downs I really do love this place, its the Last Homely House for taffers. I have already posted in your thread over on the EM boards. You cannot hope to have the Thief experience with contextual movement, we gotta make some noise on this one.

Ha ha. He IS a clown! Posting in purple, sure to be taken seriously.

Right, just checked in for a quick sitrep. Upshot seems to be this game now just sounds uh, bad? Balls. Still, TDM, lets TDM, dema, get your (awesome sounding) shit together and TDM.

Contrarian hasn't replied to any of the things said in defense of TTLG. While I admit to being the first to take the bait, I think it was said with no intention other than to piss us off a little. Really, he could dislike some of us, or that we as a group are generally against what EM is doing to Thief, but to claim that we are detrimental to the Thief community, or seek to destroy it is obviously stupid.
EDIT: I was wrong. He is writing more nonsense now.
