Oh come on, people. PC games are so 20th century. They account for something like 1% of total sales after you take out WoW, Sims, and Diablo.
Thief developed with next-gen consoles first in their mind, is a no brainer. It is obligatory. Trust me, Thief 4 will play more like Assassin's Creed than Thief.
It's by design. It's mandatory. And it's a good thing.

Exactly. :p
Designed for all those 21st century people that have no idea how to keep a multi-versatile system up and healthy.
Can't keep a PC free of viruses and malware ? Buy a console !
Something don't work anymore? Buy next shit !
Can't do what you want ? Buy some other device on top that can handle that specific task for you !
Just a few more hundred bucks more and surely someone had the pleasure to free you from virtually all the burden to *think* what you are doing before you do it.
I am proud to be a 1%'er.

I wouldnt say that its mandatory... the new Might and Magic team purposely didnt make a "AAA" game to revive the franchise. They wisely acknowledge that it is a niche game, and if done properly not only would the true fans be pleased, but the door then becomes open for more games! So us true fans have been invited into the design process. The new Thief Team Inc et al have decided on their own to make some stupid over bloated money grubbing soul sucking blimp of a "AAA" game and call it Thief, and in the process is steadily eliminating the core fanbase. Rest their poor poor souls...

Thing is, he's right. If you were to take away all the big named blockbuster titles for the PC, then the sales numbers wouldn't be all that high for the platform.
It's like how if the PS3 didn't have any games out for it, no one would buy one. Common sense, man.

I don't even see a reason to buy a console, now that consoles are like PCs anyway: (
http://www.gamefront.com/consoles-have-just-become-shtty-pcs/)
And these days they are not really cheaper either -- Xbone costs 500 USD, likely more, if it would be available in my country... I could build a pretty reasonable* gaming PC with just 100-200 dollars more. And that's not even considering the price differences of games on console and PC.
* Reasonable here means playing the latest games on high settings in 1080p.

Yeah, and I suppose no one is buying games on Steam these days, right? Damn, I guess PC gaming IS dead. :p

Very true.
World of Warcraft, The Sims, Diablo, and toss in Half-Life. That's it. There's your ENTIRE PC market. Those games keep the PC alive. Once a new version of those games come out, they sell such a ridiculously large number that it skews the stats. All of a sudden, people say, "PC games are alive and well." Well, we know the truth.
I'm an ex PC gamer. I got tired of the PC racket. Fleecing the consumer at every turn. Buy a computer in December, and in July, it won't be capable of running the latest games.
I can't wait for Thief gameplay. It really never was suited to mouse and keyboard play. A Playstation controller will no doubt feel more natural. I can't wait.
