Well... I would rather have the feature in like that than not at all, but yeah. There's not much satisfaction in 'ooh I put the rope arrow in the only place I can put a rope arrow' is there. I mean, can you at least still miss, I wonder? Or is more of a push button to make rope sort of affair? I suppose the vine arrows in T2 were, functionally, pretty similar. In that there would be a random single tile of grating stuck somewhere convenient quite often.
Yeah, the vine arrows were a bit disappointing, but I think they were mainly there to go along with the theme of Victoria giving you access to her equipment, if you know what I mean.

As I remember vine arrows would do everything that a normal rope arrow would do but they would also attach to metal grills and gratings
Which is just as well as there was a shortage of wood in the final level of metal age

I actually preferred vine arrows to rope arrows because of the fact that they could attach to metal.

The lack of wood was quite understandable. It would've been entirely inappropriate in that level.

You know... for a very long time, I doubt in reviews as well as news coming from big sites like Kotaku, IGN, Gametrailers and many more. But among this mess, there are few independent people and sites that I really like. TotalHalibut, AngryJoe... and one of my favorite places, where I like to go for reviews must be Elder-Geek, a bunch of guys who - over years of hard work, were growing and growing and as they grew - they were constantly earning my trust and respect. Aaaand... Randy from EG was at E3. I don't know how informative it's going to be (I'm listening to it, as I write this)

and boy how I love the way he started talking about this:
Quote:
I'm gonna call it right now, dude... This game should not be called Thief (...)
I laughed hearing that... and between all this hatred, nostalgia-crap etc. I know, that I'd be so much more forgiving if it was called something else.
EDIT:
Well that was short. But cool to listen to, either way.

Indeed, people would be judging it much less harshly if it was an Assassins Creed game. LGS left some pretty big shoes behind.

Jerion, EM forums moderator, (

This is unbelievable. We were told that the levels are huge and no loading is needed... I hope it was just for the demo purposes.
If not... welcome back, loading zones!

F...! I don't want another shitty TDS. Give us proper PC version with NO LOADING ZONES throughout the missions! Give us long, complex missions for the enjoy of exploring and even getting lost as in T1 and T2!

What!? That's one of the worst things I've heard so far.:( Ugh. Maybe they can remove them for PC? (crosses fingers)
That Sneaky Bastard article was disappointing. The excuses Stephane Roy are giving just show that he's trying to cater to the casual audience. He even says "impossible to please everyone." Of course, but I'd rather you please the hardcore fans than please the gamers that will just slurp up ridiculous shit like highlight points and scripted sequences like the burning bridge part.
Oh, and him talking about how there were people who actually liked the flash on the screen kinda baffles me. I guess because a lot of people feel it is a good visual aid, but I don't really think it's necessary and it removes you from the immersion. If they could even just modify how it currently is to reduce it in some fashion, even that would be a step in the right direction. I think EM feels like they have to give the player some hand holding or it will be too frustrating to play, but I think as a Master Thief that's half the point. You need to be able to learn on your own. I really hope the vignette is toggleable.

2:45 mark for SuicideMachine's video, if you want to jump right to it.
