It's a rigged demo, which gives them control but leaves us with lots of basic questions.

Well, I've been catching up. From what I saw so far, I won't spend more than 5 bucks on it in a steam sale, if I ever buy it. :erg:
Absolutely NOTHING appeals to me in these videos. Nice work EM...

Yes. They flat-out said so yesterday; I believe in the Gamespot feed.
But there are dogs, so I guess that makes up for it :P
Awesome!
I was excited because of that burrick head in the inn. But I should have known burricks are too magicky for them.

It's funny how the game looks and feels better without all the casualized stuff. Watching that 'demo' with Stéphane Roy was better. I'm very worried about rope arrows, since, as someone said, they can only be used on very specific stuff. This was very blatant in the demo with Stéphane Roy since the player had focus turned on.

If you want to hear it, I found it and updated my last post. It's in the Gamespot feed, for sure:

Zewp - what games can you name that aren't AAA titles and are unaffected by the "current state of the industry." I'm not baiting you, I'm just curious as to your standards. Just so you know mine - I think Dishonored and DX:HR (minus the boss fights) are spectacular.
I'm not really sure what exactly it is you're asking in your first sentence? You want me to name non-AAA games that are not affected the state of the AAA industry?
Regardless, if you want a comparison between my and your tastes, I thought Dishonored was a pretty weak stealth game, too linear for its own good, lacking in any significant challenge and the AI was dumb to the point that stealth was an absolute cakewalk. Deus Ex HR was alright for a Deus Ex game, but it was nothing spectacular. The amount of options you had for missions were often way too limited compared to what we saw in the original Deus Ex, usually just limiting the player's choices to stealthing his way through, hacking the security or shooting his way through levels. It was better than IW, but it still borrowed too much from IW and not enough from DX1.
If you want further comparisons for stealth games I enjoy, I liked the Splinter Cell series up until Chaos Theory. After CT the quality of the games decreased until they hit rock bottom in Conviction.

Fans? Roots? You registered yesterday? WTF do you know about fans, and roots?
How long, and i mean in YEARS, have you actually been playing Thief? And which versions have you played though? And how many HUNDRED FM's have you worked through? And how many have you personally actually created?
Seems to me you're a noob with NO credentials, no history and a big mouth (well, keyboard anyway). There are people who know the Thief Universe inside out, like the one you're trying to flame, who have actually participated in keeping the game alive and providing a world for the rest of us.
By the tone of your whining, i'm guessing you're so young you weren't even born when most of us first picked up a blackjack and swam into Baffords Manor...
You bring nothing. And therefore your 'opinions' and BS posts will be treated as such.
"Hurr durr I was here longer than you therefore your opinionionion is invalid trolololo."
Really though, if your entire rebuttal is just a string of ad hominem attacks centred around my join date, then forgive me if I don't pay you much heed. ;)

Ya hear that? He doesn't want Garrett "acquiring fireballs." I still don't know what Thief game has that, that he repeats that to this day. But Jenivere as a familiar is grounded. No bieurix. Dangit.

OK. I'm done for the day. Please remember that all bollockings, rantings or frothings at the mouth should be polite.
'Night all.

It's a joke, see. Bird is slang for woman.
