Yes? I was referring to EM's track record so far, or am I only able to use that phrase once they've actually released a game? (If so, I apologise, English is not my native language).
I think (hope) you got the gist of it though, but I'll admit that sentence may have seemed nonsensical if you haven't been actively following DX3 development. If you have, you know being proactive won't hurt, although like I said; it didn't change a thing for DX3. And then there's the fact that the two games they're working on belong to two of my most beloved game series.

And?
And you're going to spend a lot of time
being lost and exploring the levels the first time you play Thief. You are not going to spend a lot of time
being lost and exploring the levels the first time you play Call of Duty. Once you know the game and know where to go it takes you much less time as you're neither lost nor exploring anymore.

Three, maybe four (!).
DX:HR is getting heavier work, possibly even utilizing 60 of the T4 team's members, while the core 20 continue on.
The third title has a producer, and there's this new announcement to be getting a listing on the (

With 140 people working on DX:HR this year, and with development lasting more than 24 months, I wonder if they will need to change their mission statement or if they will be able to fall back into the pre-Square-Enix goals, still reflected in all their mission statements:

Yup. That's pretty much what I pointed out myself. But my point was, after being lost in Thief:DS the first time around, it took me about the same amount of time (if not less!) to play as Call of Duty.
jtr: I was just wondering how there could be a "track record" when they haven't even released a game yet.

10 hrs? That sounds more like an expansion than a stand alone game. Every scrap of information or rumour I hear just adds to my dispair. A 10 hour game is pretty standard for a console game I think and that's the market they are probably aiming for. I wouldn't be suprised if the semi-success of Assassin's Creed is influencing the direction of T4 too.
The only good thing about all this depressing news is that my disappointment will not be nearly as great as it was on the release of T3.
edit: I've just read Fett's post about Assassin's Creed. Looks like I was sadly right :erg:

I was just looking at some of the times in the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71594) Speed Thief Collection thread for the original games. Times from 5 1/2 hours down to 44 minutes to beat the game! Granted, this was a speed Thief contest.
So out of curiosity, how long has your most recent time through of, say, TMA taken to play the whole game and see everything without racing through it, but without dawdling around either?

My original play through of TDP and TMA were in the 25 to 30 hour mark...subsequent plays, without dawdling...I could probably do in around 20.
So yeah, their estimate of 10 hours for a Thief game seems VERY short...especially when some single fan missions can easily last 2 hours or more. I think fan missions really raised the bar in terms of how complex and challenging a mission can be, it's going to be difficult for a AAA title to do that and still be marketable to mainstream.

Unofficial information that may or may not be true, in the context of heated disagreement, where frustration over a brush-off attitude is being blamed on pettiness:

As for the magazine reporting that T4 would be 10 hours long... it's up to you if you wish to spend your time reading this third-party information and it is also your prerogative if you wish to believe it. This kind of press is prevalent everywhere, for all forms of media, so it is unlikely to damage EM's reputation. Really, the proof is in the pudding - so just wait until you here OFFICIAL information about the game.

I know she says it came from a 'third party', but that third party was quoting the main man, Stephane D'Astous. lol It's not like the magazine guessed how long the game would be, he said it himself.
The more I hang out at the Eidos Forums, the more disillusioned I am with it. The censorship is a bit heavy handed.

We're getting heavy doublespeak from the mods for no constructive reason, as the immediate effect is chaos and they're actually dragging out and wallowing in logical fallacies and treating everyone like 'tards before anyone's stepped into defensive frustration territory, much more than I've seen. Baseless opinions are treated as facts, and facts are treated as baseless opinions, and they act like they don't comprehend how aggravating that is.
