DX:HR was just recently suggested to be 20-35 hours long, so don't hit your flip-out buttons just yet.
Except at least half of that will be cutscenes and dialogues. Thief 4 won't have those.
Then again, who knows!

It says that the actual plans are for a 10 hours-story, not that at this time they have already 10 hours of gameplay. Really short, but there is of course hope for more.
Side missions would be very cool, indeed!

My last playthrough Thief Dark Project 1.33 took about 8 hours according to the stats screen. I was not in a hurry, played on Expert difficulty without any self-imposed challenges or using any exploits, just role-playing Garrett. So I suppose this "10 hours of something" doesn't really tells anything. :p

of course the length goes along with the play-style....but if you play Thief 1.....and i think it's not your first take on t hief 1....then you know the main plot, the levels etc.......but if you play a new thief game for the first time it takes much longer.....you suck in the new levels, atmosphere and all stuff......so first playthrough Thief 1 wouldnt take only 8 hours....
but now i agree with Mike F., after reading the part of the article again.....it says 10h storyboard....I have to excuse.....but when i first read this i only read THIEF 4!!!!!! got shivered.....and the following words didn't go to my brain......i only read Thief 4-->10 hours........
a 10h story sounds good.......15-20h of playtime.......enough......hopefully they get it and make a good thief experience......and can find a way to fix the console limitations.....
AND that iit's FM-friendly......
I'M EXCITED!!!!!! :)
the article says that they catch the DEUS EX 1 experince with sinful modern things......so I hope they can do this to THIEF....

Even if you're playing Thief TDP for the 50th time, if it took you 8 hours to complete the entire game, you were role-playing not Garrett, but probably one of the sprint champions of the world. If you're completing a typical Thief mission under 2 hours, you
are rushing.

it depends on the mission.....but you're right under the aspect of being garret......but 2h.......take the average.......1h+ for a mission.........youre about 20h........for the game
my post before meant this :D but i didn't want to be this direct
THUMBS UP

Yeah, I want to know how many missions there are, with the average number for a Thief game being 14 (15, with Gold), and side quests aren't side quests if they are necessary to complete the game. For Thief, a sidequest is only an aside to the main story, but never a requirement, unless playing on Expert for some things or because the player activated it.

It's most likely a 10 hour script if timed out, which could translate into Go-knows-how-long for actually game play. 30+ hours?
Here's hoping it's true. But this whole thread is based on only one tiny snippet of information, so lets not get carried away by early rumours. Once Thief IV will finally enter the spotlight, we'll at least have something to work with. Hopefully. ;)

My only worry is: Who in the hell is "Go" and why is he all knowing?
