Hi folks, many apologies if this has been answered already - I've searched but haven't found anyone else reporting this problem.
I've got a 1680x1050 monitor and I'm trying to get T3 v1.1 to go widescreen. I'm following the instructions (
http://mugon.org/widescreen/thief.html) here and (
http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/wiki/index.php/Thief:_Deadly_Shadows) here but I can't get it to work properly.
When I start up the game after editing the options.ini file to res=-1, I get 1600x1200 distorted & stretched out beyond the edges of my monitor. When I start up a new game after applying the FOV patch, the game freezes and crashes at the loading screen.
Any ideas? Am I missing a step somewhere?
If it's any use, my puter's a Core 2 Duo system with Radeon 4850x2 & ATI Catalyst, and I'm running XP SP2.
[edit] Fixed after 3 hours of tearing my hair out, yay!
I experimented with options.ini til I found that -3 gave me 1680x1050. I also eventually realised the game didn't crash on loading when I ran T3.exe directly rather than through the Steam shortcut I made ages ago. Apparently Thief doesn't like Steam community overlay, which makes me sad, but I can live with that. The widescreen fix works perfectly, there was never anything wrong with it. PEBKAC.
I'll just leave this here in case anyone else has the same problems and stumbles across my post.

I will to update the WGSF wiki so that it says -3 instead of -1, sorry about that..
The overlay is only applicable for multiplayer games I beleive with T3 isnt, and its another reason not to like steam.
