I wanna ask for a more difficult game in general. I'm sure a lot of people wants this and some tweaks works it pretty well but I'm thinking on one thing:
-The Keepers Enforcers: It will be pretty good that they becomes silents, more sensitive (like in expert), and that their noises when walking be more like Garrett's footsteps.
See you.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but editing the physicssound file works for me. The bodies fall in a more realistic fashion, and aren't as bouncy as they were before. It could be an issue that affects only certain computers, but it definitely does work.

Is there anyway to implement rent? I mean, people are complaining (myself included) that you've always got too much money, a nice way of getting rid of it could be to take an amount away each day to pay the rent (and food and other stuff).

Is it possible to make the AI search for longer once they are in full alert.
:)
Or how about getting the Museum level of AI for other stages in the game ?
Thanks,

BTW, no one here noticed big changes in game with this params tweaked. It's probably personalistic perception of changes, but not real changes
On the contrary, many people have noticed changes. I think revelation2k may be right when he said that it must just be computers or something.
If I had web space that would allow me to upload movies (any takers :p ) I'd make a short movie of an editted T3PhysicsSound.ini and an uneditted one. I guarantee you'll notice a difference, at least on my machine.
I've noticed a difference on 3 machines now that I've put it on

Hmm, I'm having problems getting the debug menu to work.
I followed the instructions exactly as I should, and I can access the menu, but nothing works.
The up/down arrows don't do anything, and hitting escape does not take me back to the main menu.
It seems that using the menu is locking up the game.

*bump* Lots of extra tweaks in here that didn't make it into the official guide. Any chance we could get this stickied?

Hi y' all--
I'm sorry if this has been posted/asked before, but I'm experiencing pretty strange problems, and wanted to ask if that's my ( my PC's) or the software's problem.
I've got both DX:IW and the Thief3-Demo installed. The FullVersion follows sometime next week, I just need the time to go shopping.
So now, Some days ago I dl'ed the latest ForceWare-Driver 61-something.
As DX:IW-performance was boosted dramatically I decided to replay the Thief3-Demo...
I started the game with a savegame from the CastleFront, and what do I see? First of all, some very strange graphical problems, hard to explain, but not of utmost importance. Then I try moving and running around, and everything seems okay, but ( here it comes..) everything's "retarded"...like a MouseLag...I am by now used to running 3d-games at 800x600 with medium details, just to have it "flowing" -not like a framebyframe-analysis of the game. Well, I kinda got over it and played on, but what I really dislike is the MouseLag when picking locks. The pointer stands still, and I move around with my mouse...after the lag, the pointer goes where I want him to be...and this is somewhat annoying, ALSO because it hadn't been there before!
Now I tried minimizing everything, resolution, shadow details, LOD, everything- no change. The game runs just as "fast" as before. And this I hereby classify as
"strange"- Why can one driver boost performance on a game with almost the same engine and leave the other unchanged?
What can I do about it, and when I buy the game ( which I will certainly, having played GTA3 and Morrowind on a PIII500 with 128MB of RAM and a GF2MX), what are the improvements the 1.2-patch brought with it?
My specs:
P4 2.53GHz
512MB RDRAM
GeForce 4 Ti 4200 ( bottleneck?)
Win Xp-Prof ( doubt this info is of any use)
ForceWare 61.something
Don't even think about it, I have turned everything off, no AA, no AF, no VSYNC, no apps running in the background, nothing.
I considered buying a new graphics board, but I guess this'll have to wait. Why? Cos from October 4th till somewhen mid2005 I'll be AWAY, so there's no sense in owning a DX9-graphics card when you can't use it.

i downloaded T3PlayerAnims.zip from someone in this thread so I could get faster leaning and some other usefull things(but he had it from the demo) but I installed it and now it seems garret is always on ice... so I was wondering if anyone else has a working T3PlayerAnims file with better things
