To get rid of the extra "clamp" in the gears
in T3UI.ini
[ItemHilightWindow_1] and [ItemHilightWindow_2]
[WeaponHilightWindow_1] and [WeaponHilightWindow_2]
make all Active=NOT
Haven't been able to completely get rid of the rotation etc without either crashing things or making them work badly
..once we get rid of the gear noise I'll be happy just with this tweak coupled with previous ones to reduce the size and lower the position of the items

One thing about the frob settings. I notice that the new frob tends to highlight the whole object, like it was encased in semi-transparent plastic. The old one seemed to mostly affect the edges/ridges of objects, more like a glow. This isn't a big deal, but I notice that in dark areas, highlighted objects become very flat with their details washed out. Is this just the way the new frob works, or can you change the colour settings to deal with this? (eg, having values closer to 0?)

Has anyone yet figured out how to remove/disable the annoying mechanical hum when zooming? Yes, it serves a purpose, but let's face it - if I'm zooming in to listen in on a conversation, do I really want that hum over it?

Why should zooming in with a mechanical eye help you hear a conversation?

Latest version of the patch (v0.5) is done, should work with demo aswell. Since it does all I wanted to do this will probably be last version, unless some serious bug surfaces.
I'll reiterate it's limitations.
The frob fix _does_ affect other areas of the game, currently known the stealth glow in third person and crystals (present in some levels). There is nothing I can do about it, take it or leave it. There are other frob-hacks around if you prefer something else (like John P's frob texture replacement).
The loot glint is either on or off, if the game is too hard then don't turn it off. Please resort to other methods, like making it smaller (suggested earlier in this thread).

Springheel, the frob will have a washed out effect yes. Nothing that can be done about it from the shader. T1/2 made objects fullbright, in T3 the way the highlight is rendered that can't be done without modifying the rendering code. There's always hope that all the intense patching going on will give ION a hint of what to add in a patch, if there will be one.

Do you know how to change where the text is centered? When I reduce its size, it's a bit too high up for my tastes.
I figured this out just now. You'll have to do it in Quotes.sch. You can add a blank line anywhere by inserting [p] into the string (with < and > instead of [ and ]). Adding one at the beginning of each string should be enough. Fortunately, you can do this very quickly by using the Replace feature of Notepad. Just run the Replace command, type in ' "' (that's a blank space with a " after it- no apostrophes, of course) for what you want to find and ' "[p]' (space, ", [p]) for what you want to replace it with, and hit Replace All. Fast, easy, and spoiler-free. :cheeky:

Can someone do me a big favour, and tell me what the last three lines are in the default.ini file BEFORE making changes to the helptext? I made that change before making my backup, and I'd like to have the option of running the virgin settings. Thanks in advance.
