I prefer the new ones, although the originals were fine too...
Here's another (https://copy.com/Z2LhyEZKA08fBU9J) Editor SU beta - hold shift while clicking "Play Map" (i.e. while launching the 'opt' exe) or when returning from the pause screen to disable the HUD for unobstructed screenshots. Unfortunately it's not feasible to port the built-in screenshot feature from the game exe.
Edit: Temporarily removed - suddenly got a Viktoria error on startup. :weird:

I worked on the intros a bit more and made a Pagan version. Also, I've shortened the glyph intros to a length comparable to that of The Dark Project. No need to see half a minute of the same footage each time a briefing is started.
I also like the new version, even if the stuttering slow-mo is a bit unfortunate. It would probably be too immersion breaking if we used more text on a page, thus making the whole quote appear quicker and with less need for extra slow-mo, right? I wonder if there are other ways to stretch these few seconds in video. Well, maybe this guy knows: (

OK, (
https://copy.com/KyN9pGvxzNeaqEJ8) this one should work. Turned out that the editor loads the options.ini file and complains if the Resolution setting is out of the original range. To disable the HUD at start-up, hold shift until the busy cursor appears.

There's an AviSynth interpolation filter that I can try, if needed.

Hmm, I thought better slow-motion wasn't possible because of the poor quality of the source material. But after reading up on some articles similar to the one Beleg posted I decided to have another go at it. These versions are retimed in Motion instead of Final Cut Pro, with some stabilising effects added, I think the stuttering is almost negligible now.

(

(

If these versions don't cut it I think we'll have to revert to the "classic" look or maybe snobel can work some magic with the AviSynth filter he mentioned.

Vast improvement! More than good enough...

They look much better.

Indeed, this is right on the money! :thumb: I'll have a look at the screenshots.
Edit: Please find a few Clocktower shots (
http://www.jaybmusic.net/Eidos/Thief3Gold/Clocktower.7z) here. Once you get beyond the street limits, the world starts falling apart, so it's difficult to get good angles with both the Clocktower and the City (or with a decent foreground). If there are any more specific requests, I can try to build something worth taking a photo of. Depending on your Photoshop skills, it might be worth having a look at the TDS artworks to see if they could be used: (

These are all looking lovely. One question, is it possible to add some grain to the briefing sections of the videos? I find the transition from the more grainy intro into the briefing is pretty noticeable.

The briefing sections have some grain, but it's too subtle, I agree. My plan was to go over every briefing as soon as I have one for each mission, to correct issues, so I'll look into adding some extra noise to the images.
I've added two new briefings to the playlist:
- (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PxjVMl1f4Xo) Still Life with Blackjack
- (
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8X1gSx_W4U) Of Brethren and Betrayers
That leaves one Hammer briefing (the Cradle) and a Pagan (Into the Pagan Sanctuary) one.
