ok I have changed the sreen resolution to 800x600. and I will update the video driver. I will reply a little later to let you know what the results are.

You probably don't have to risk the video driver change - I'm still using 56-something.

Hello to All agian:
I have updated my motherboard drivers and also the video driver from nvidia's main website. But no luck :( , get that same error. Any more sugesstions?

I have the 3dmax trial version and the 3dmax plugins. Could the 3dmax cause that error?

Below are a list of Directx versions that I found on micorsoft downloads. I have the Directx 9.0c end-user runtime installed. Nevertheless I will re-install this version. But, what about the other directx versions; should I download one of them?

It's the trial verison of 3dmax 7 (Seven). Anyways, I have milkshake and blender, so I am going to uninstall it and hopefully this will help.
