Thief 2x Game Disc - TTLG Forums

Hello everyone.
This is my first time posting on this forum, so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong category.
Yesterday, I downloaded Thief 2x from their website after downloading the Tafferpatcher. When I went to play it, it told me: Please insert the Thief 2 game disc into the disc drive. As I purchased Thief 2 on Steam a few months ago, I have no disc to insert. While I did look around on the Internets for help, I quickly realized I had no real idea as to what I was doing, as this is the first time I've tried downloading a Thief fan mission, and one of the first times I've modded a game. I don't have much experience with the technical aspect of video games, so I hope someone can tell me what to do in layman's terms.

Welcome to the forum and don't worry about being in the wrong place or not. T2X is tricky because sometimes it counts as a Fan Missions forum thread and sometimes it's better in ThiefGen.

I'm moving this to ThiefGen as it looks like a technical question.

You need the newest version of Thief2x. You can download it from here: (http://www.bogadocious.com/thief/T2X.zip) http://www.bogadocious.com/thief/T2X.zip

What's good about this is you don't need to use Thief2x install. Instead you install it like every other FM (for example through FM Selector).

That simple huh? I'd thought it would be more complicated because of Steam and Program Files and stuff. :)

And now I don't know what I did, I think I tried applying-- no, some other term-- it to T2x, and Norton told me the file--or words to that effect-- was unsafe and had been removed.

With Newdark, you can no longer use T2X in its original form (its own executable). You need to use it as a normal fan mission campaign. So load it with (https://darkloader.net/) Darkloader or (https://github.com/RSoul82/NewDarkLoader) Newdarkloader

Since you've never played a fan mission before, you're going to need to set up a mission loader. See nickie's link above for the built in mission loader (FM Selector) that comes with the latest version of Thief.

Edit: And yeah, don't use Darkoader, it's outdated software. It will work for some missions but not for all.
